Altoona Curve announce new on-field hats for 2018
ALTOONA – The Altoona Curve will have two new hats when they take the field in 2018, the team announced Friday.
Team officials said the Curve’s new home hat is black with a red bill and has the team’s "A" inside a keystone logo. Team officials also said that the new home hat will be reversible, with an Al Tuna mascot logo on the other side of the hat.
The second hat, which will be used for batting practice and as an alternate hat, has a baseball with smoke going through the "A" to look like a train engine going through the Allegheny Mountains, according to team officials.
“The ‘Classic Curve’ has always been my favorite logo,” Curve general manager Derek Martin said in a press release. “We wanted to modernize it with our updated color scheme to bring back a retro hat for our 20th season. I love this logo so much that if I see you in the community wearing it, I will buy you a Mountain Dew.”
Fans who want to buy the two new hats can preorder them either at People’s Natural Gas Field between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by contacting Curve director of merchandise Michelle Gravert at 814-283-3138. Team officials said the hats should be available in the Stockyard team store in spring 2018.
