Annual Ferndale Jubilee returns; no parade being held this year

The 91st annual Ferndale Firemen's Jubilee is underway this week, with the opening ceremony being held Monday evening.

The jubilee will be open every day, until Saturday, from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Officials add that the kitchen will open an hour earlier, at 5 p.m., every day.

Due to the rise in fuel costs, officials say there will be no parade this year, but still plenty of fun with rides, a weeklong 50/50, games and food.

“We’re looking for everybody to come down, participate this year, I know it’s been a rough year for everybody but we’re excited and ready to go, we appreciated the attendance last year and we’re looking for the same this attendance this year or even more.”

There will also be fireworks on Saturday night at 10 p.m.
