Bellefonte softball using team bonds to find success

BELLEFONTE -- With just a few weeks remaining in the regular season, the Bellefonte High School softball team is near the top of the Mountain League standings at 11-3.
The Red Raiders took home a district title in 2014 and have hopes to return to the championship game this season. Head coach Fred Caldwell believes that the bonds formed on this year's team have helped them find success.
"This team is the closest-knit unit that I've ever coached, they get along great," Caldwell said. "They are really doing a great job at the plate, and our pitching staff is doing fantastic."
One of the five seniors on the team, Rachael Bernier, also agrees that the closeness of her teammates can help them achieve their goals.
"We know each other, and I feel like if anybody's going to go out there and do amazing things, it will be us," Bernier said.
