Brookville-area man charged with child rape, accused of multiple sexual assaults

A 33-year-old Jefferson County man has been charged with child rape, accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, Damon Hamman began assaulting the girl at his Curve Drive, Knox Township, residence just after Thanksgiving.
The assaults continued at least two more times, with the most recent occurring in mid-December, according to the affidavit.
On Dec. 19 the girl was treated at Penn Highlands Brookville, where she told authorities about the alleged assaults, according to the affidavit.
Hamman has been charged with several sex-related offenses, including felony charges for rape of a child and aggravated indecent assault of a child.
He was arraigned Dec. 22 before District Judge Gregory Bazylak, of Brookville, and was sent to the Jefferson County Jail on A $100,000 bond.
