Former Cambria County commissioner honored

Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — A former Cambria County commissioner was honored Thursday.
William "BJ" Smith was recognized by the other Cambria County commissioners after serving as the commissioner for the last eight years and not earning reelection.
Keith Rager now takes Smith's place.
Smith says it was a pleasure and honor working for the county and that they got things done by working together.
He also says under his leadership, Cambria County has gone from bankruptcy to a $7 million surplus.
Smith said, "It's been a very good ride and the things that we've done are going to come back in the future to help the residents. All the bridges, all your infrastructure, boilers, windows in the courthouse, they're all done. That should help your taxes in the future."
Smith also says he plans on doing a lot of hunting and fishing in his free time.
