Furever Friends: Pets available for adoption

Publish date: 2024-05-12

It’s time to help you find your Fur-ever Friend on 6 News! This month we hope to help you find your Fur-ever Friends as we feature not one but two cats from the Cambria County Humane Society, Tootsie and Crush.

Tootsie and Crush were found separately wandering around Cambria County but now the two cats are inseparable. The duo is shy but bring out the best in each other and staff hope there’s something willing to adopt them as a bonded pair. Tootsie and Crush are about 11 months old and will warm up to anyone with time and a few treats. They frequently hang out in each other’s kennels at the shelter to play, cuddle and enjoy a meal together.

“We kind of look at it like they went away to college here at the shelter and they both have their own dorm but they hang out at each other’s dorm all the time. And we would just love to see them go home together from here,” said Jessica Vamos the Executive Director of the Cambria County Humane Society.

If you’re interested in adopting Tootsie or Crush and maybe even the two together, you can contact the shelter at (814) 535-6116 and the e-mail is cambriacountyhumanesociety@gmail.com. You can also find them on Facebook or fill adoption form on their website.

Now let’s take a look at some other adoptable pets!

Bubba is an eight-year-old Terrior and Pitbull mix at the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society. He ended up at the shelter when his family was having a new baby and needed to surrender him. Staff say Bubba is the sweetest boy and loves to play! A home with a big yard where he’s the only pet would be his dream home. The shelter's email is info@centralpahumane.org. You can reach the shelter on Facebook or on their website. You can call the shelter at (814) 942-5402.

Four-year-old Beau currently calls Center County PAWS home and is waiting to meet his Fur-ever Family. Beau’s adoption fee is fully sponsored! A large mixed breed that loves to be around people and play, Beau is fully house and crate trained. He would do best in a home with children nine years and older without cats. You can contact the shelter at 814-237-8722 they also have a Facebook and website.

The Humane Society of Huntingdon County hopes someone will come adopt this seven-year-old Pitbull mix Buddy! His family had to move and couldn’t take him along so now he calls the shelter home. Buddy loves long car rides, walks and he just learned how to play with toys. He hopes he’ll find a home soon with people who can play with him. Give the shelter a call at 814-643-7387. They also have a Facebook page and website.

This is Heidi from the Somerset County Humane Society; the sweet girl was a stray and staff believe she’s two-years-old. Heidi can be shy so it might take some time for her to warm up to you. She gets along great with cars and other dogs so if you already have some pets Heidi could fit right in! If you’re interested in Heidi you can call the shelter at 814-443-2121. They also have a Facebook page and a website.
