Girl, 12, rescued from house fire dies of injuries
MINERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a 12-year-old girl rescued from a burning house in eastern Pennsylvania last week has died of her injuries.
The Lehigh County coroner's office said Tuesday that Nyah-Ann Barnwell died Sunday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
The death was ruled accidental and due to complications of inhalation injuries.
WBRE-TV reported earlier that police and fire rescuers battled extreme heat and smoky conditions Friday afternoon to rescue the girl from a second-floor window of the Minersville home.
Two adults and the girl's five siblings were able to escape.
Officials said six firefighters and two police officers needed medical treatment.
