investigation underway after human remains found in Erie County

ERIE COUNTY, Pa. — State police have launched a death investigation after human remains were found in Millcreek Township, Erie County, Friday morning, a press release states.

According to state police, Belle Valley Fire Department responded to a brush fire on I-90, mile marker 30, at 2:30 a.m.

A press release states that human remains of a white female were found at the shoulder of the interstate when emergency officials arrived on scene.

State police said they are treating the death as suspicious.

State police are asking anyone with any information, especially motorists traveling in that location between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. who observed anything suspicious, are urged to contact PSP Erie at (814) 898-1641.
