Man dies while cutting down trees in Centre County

PENN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — State police and the Centre County coroner responded to Penn Township on Friday after a treetop fell onto a man.

According to state police, 81-year-old Dale Musser was cutting down trees on Lingle Valley Road around 7 p.m. in Centre County when a treetop fell on top of him.

Officials said Musser was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of death was ruled accidental from blunt force trauma from the falling tree limb.
