Penn State international student killed after being struck by vehicle

University Park, PA (WJAC) — Authorities in State College say a 25-year-old female international student at Penn State was killed Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle being driven by a fellow student.
Police say first responders were dispatched to the crash scene, located along the 200 block of East Park Ave., around 8 p.m.
Investigators say a vehicle, driven by a 20-year-old international student, was reportedly traveling westbound when it crossed into the opposite lane and onto the sidewalk.
Police say the driver then struck the victim, who was reportedly jogging.
Authorities say the student was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center before being transferred to UPMC Altoona.
Police say the victim did not survive her injuries.
Investigators say alcohol and/or drug use is not believed to be a factor in the crash but police are continuing to investigate the cause.
Police are asking anyone with video of the crash, or who may have witnessed it, to contact the department at 814-234-7150.
