State lawmakers are speaking out about the latest review of the Freeh report and its findings.

The special review, done by a group of Penn State trustees, is now public.

When the Freeh report was released in 2012, it was a bombshell, with findings that top Penn State administrators had repeatedly covered up the actions of convicted child abuser Jerry Sandusky to protect the university's reputation.

The NCAA used the Freeh report to sanction Penn State and assess a $60 million penalty.

State Senate Majority leader Jake Corman was one of the first to question the NCAA and the Freeh report.

With the special review now made public, Corman told 6 News this week that his viewpoint hasn't changed.

He said he's always been critical of the Freeh report, but it's up to the board of trustees what to do with it.

Jerry Sandusky is due back in court soon for re-sentencing.
